Visiting a near'ish'by farm
Living up here nearby is a relative term. To get to the grocery store it takes 25 minutes at least, and it's not because of stoplights. So when we choose to leave it's usually for a nice drive through some beautiful countryside, forest, along the lake shore to get to some destination spot. A local favorite around here is one of the nearby farms that does some incredible outreach to the community and has some great attractions, such as the Squash Rocket, a cute little restaurant with local farm to table food, food out and ready for kids to feed to the goats and cows, baby pigs, a trout pond, berries for picking. Given that we are missing our farm share this summer and occasional trips to the farm this was pretty satisfying! The kids were right at home and we spent a good part of our day here with our fellow bug camp kids.
